winter sonata II

Am still watching winter sonata. We are already half way through. And how wrong was I!! Initially, we all thought that Xiang He loves You Zhen so much and is so good to him. But as the story continues, he is actually such a selfish person. He just wants You Zhen by his side even though he knows that her heart is not with him and she is unhappy. Jun Xiang is the one who really loves You Zhen without condition. When knowing she is upset, he even send her to Xiang He, knowing that if she goes visit him, she might never go back to him again. Yes, this is truly to love without conditions. He gave his love to You Zhen without expecting her to be with him or even reciprocate his love. He only wants her to be happy. Now I know why Bae Yong Jun became soooo popular after this drama. Because in the story, he is the carnation of love. All the words he said to You Zhen are sooooo sweet, which makes us go awwwww and wanna melt. Keke.

I wanna be Jun Xiang too. To love without condition. This world today is so lacking in love. Nobody will reject true love.

Finally bought my advance theory book le, under the constant of someone. Shall go and study for my advance theory. I have about 20+ days left.

winter sonata

Too much winter sonata = sleep late = lack of sleep = cant wake up in the morning = over slept :(

Sis borrowed the winter sonata vcd from Jez on Sunday and we have been watching it every night since Monday. Till now we have watched episode 9. 30+ more episodes to go. Its really takes a lot of self discipline to limit ourselves to watch 2 discs maximum every night, especially when the story gets more intrueinging and exciting. Waiting for Jun Xiang to regain his memory. I was telling sis and max, Jun Xiang not only lost his memory during the accident. There must be a big blood clot pressing his vision nerves, causing him to “bak jiu ta stamp”, to actually fall in love with Chailing. Goodness. Where is his high school intelligence??

Anyway, we watched the show till really pek chek because whenever Ming Heng and You Zhen seem to get better or have a chance to clarify, either the bitch Cailing or Xiang He will appear, thus spoiling their chances. I watched till I wanna spew vlugarities already. Haha. Like I was telling sis and Max yesterday, watch till sibeh dulan, but I still wanna watch. Haha. Guess this is the reason why this show is the no.1 drama in asia ba. :p

Never thought I’ll be hooked to the drama as I usually dun like to watch weepy weepy shows but I guess everybody loves to watch those type of lovey dovey fairy tale love story. Anyway, watching the show got me thinking... If you are You Zhen, will you:

Screw up your relationship with a man who loves you so much for someone whom you arent even sure is the person you have always been waiting for??
(of cos we know that Ming Heng IS Jun Xiang lah but at this point of the drama that I stopped, she doesn't know yet mah. And she can actually miss or forgot her own engagement reception for someone whom is not even real?)

And then it boils down to the most over asked question since 5000 years ago...

被爱幸福还是爱人幸福??

Without a doubt, 相爱是最幸福的lah. But there must be someone who starts first right? In the past, I would think被爱 is more幸福. But now, I think I will choose to爱人. WHY? Because only when you give, can you truely receive. So only when I start to give love, then will I receive love. Its time to start giving some love. And this not only applies to your partner. It applies to our family and frens and all living things around us, and most importantly, ourselves. Cos only when u love yourself, will you have love in abundance for others.

p/s: its going to be a bz bz weekend... am serving SCS... yesterday i nearly blacked out from the training... haha... no staminar... need to train liao :p

we are going to the bird park

I don't believe it myself either but I actually went to the bird park on sat!! Yes, you read it correctly. I went to the bird park early in the morning at 10am last sat, with XZ, Emily and Sandy. I was telling them I cant believe I am really here when we reached the bird park. Haha.

4 of us at the bird park :)

We watched the bird show, talk bird language, visited the owls, eagles, ostrich, flamingos, cranes and countless birds which I dunno what they are called. The most interesting part I think is when we went to the open aviary, where we can feed the parrots. I was pecked by a parrot when I tried to trick it to step on my finger. XZ is most lucky. One parrot kept calling him 美女 and even “molested” him!! Damn funny!!

Overall, it was fun. Other than having fun viewing the birds, we also had fun taking stupid pics. Haha. Which explains why there are 120+ of them. Its a pity that the penguin area is closed for renovation and we cant find any peacocks.

All pics will be (future tense used cause i have not download them yet but will be doing it soon, i promised) loaded in my multiply. You will realised that I have named a lot of pics of the birds as bird A, bird B, bird C etc because I don't know the names of the birds. :p

the sweetest sound

Yesterday I almost melted... Of happiness, of course... :)

Recently, Ace has a new favourite word and that is : BYEEEEE. When he wants you to leave, he will tell u byeeeee.... Before he goes to bed he will come to us and tell us byeeee... And he will wave his hand too. Very cute.

Yesterday, he pooed and sis was bringing him to the bathroom to wash his bon bon and he kept standing by the kitchen doorway and waved to mummy, max and me and kept saying byeeeee. So I told him: ace, since u can say byeeee so clearly, why dun you say yeeeeee?? And right after that, he said: yeeeee. Loud and clear!! :D :D :D Wah, happiness is me man. And I went over to hug him. And when sis pulled him away to bring him to the bathroom, he ran to give me a hug again. Wahseh, almost melted man. Cant wait for the day ace will tell me: ah yeee I love you. :D Ah yee loves you too, ace. Ah yee will love you unconditionally.

Im going to strike toto today!!. Keke.

fab feb :D

I just received a good news. Ken and Michelle are getting married on Valentines’ Day. Isnt that sweet?? They have been together for 10 years. Really happy for them. I still remember how Ken will always ask me about Michelle during our long mrt rides home. How I used to tease him in our programming class that Ken loves M & M (1 M stands for Michelle, you go figure out the other one. Its not Mother!!) And how he was so happy when Michelle agreed to be his gf, that he went around class and asked everybody to shake his hand and congratulate him. This couple has come a long long way and im really happy for them. :)

Nothing really interesting to update lately. Everything has been great. Good things just happens. I feel loved, I feel blissful, I am happy. :) and I believe that there will be more good things to come. Success should come easily. Yes, success comes easily when you are at peace with yourself, when you can love whole heartedly and unconditionally (this is what I have gained from POV in Taiwan).

Looking forward to feb. its going to be a eventful one :

  1. POV on 13th & 14th
  2. Ken and Michelle’s ROM on 14th
  3. End of my detox!! (yes, yes me doing a detox now to clear all the rubbish I ate in Taiwan and of course to look swee swee for the New Year)
  4. CNY celebrations!! (loads of gathering, food and gambling lined up)
  5. My Power sis, chao FG's b day on 21st (oh dear, sis u are 2X years old le!!! Gasp!! Heng I still have 10 mths to go!!)
  6. Mr N’s b day on 24th (24th also happens to be the 7th day of the CNY, which is 人日, which means its everybody’s birthday. So I think we can have double celebrations for him??)
  7. POV on 27th, 28th n 1st mar
  8. Advance theory test on 27th (wish me luck!! gonna change it to an earlier date as it clashes with POV. Anybody has advance theory book to lend me??)

Hmmm, such a short month but so many events!! Its definitely happening FEB!! Woohoo!!

POV Taiwan Trip ~ 29 December 06

Day 2: 29 December 2006

Woke up at 7.30 by the phone. The rest of the 3 flowers were still soundly asleep. We were supposed to wake up at 7 as we have to be at the lobby by 8 and YL set her alarm to go off at 7 and all of us actually slept thru it. Keke. Seeing that the rest are still asleep, I pulled myself out of bed unwillingly and went to wash up.

When we were all ready, its already 8.10. There goes our thought of having the hotel breakfast. 6 of us (ZY, rebbec, YL, Bob, Richie and me) squeezed into a car which drove us to the office in Xin Zhu. The weather was cold but slightly better than the night before. Guess we are slowly adapting to the temperature there. Once we reached the office, we took a tour around, did our registration and waited for the POV course to start. I was in anticipation, but yet at the same time, a little fearful.

When all of us were settled down in the training room, 张老师 walked in. Actually, she more of like floated in, like an angel, very light, very happy, very compassionate and very full of love. And there, the first day of POV began. (I will save the details of this course for another post. POV deserves a post by itself)

The class ended at about 6.30 and we went to a vegetarian restaurant for dinner. We each ordered a different set meal and when the meal came, we were very enticed because it looks very appetizing. But sadly the taste don't match the appearance at all. DISSAPOINTED!! That was the most horrible food I had in Taiwan. Like I told the gals, the food there is a classic epitome of looks delicious but taste kana sai. We also ordered different 小吃. Nick bought a dish of 臭豆腐 to our table and asked us to try. Curious how it taste like, I took one piece and popped it into my mouth. And I immediately regret!! It smells like rubbish dump. The taste is ok though but after that I can feel the rubbish dump stench emitting from my mouth and its simply yucky. pui pui pui!!

After our not very satisfying dinner, we took a cab to one shopping complex. But by the time we reach the shopping centre, it was quite late le and the shopping centre is about to close. So we make a quick dash to look around. But the clothes/shoes/boots there are all quite expensive. After the shopping centre, we decided to go to the night market to walk around. There was nothing much there except there were lots of food stores. But we were all very full from the dinner and most of the stores are selling non vegetarian stuff.

Nevertheless, we found a store selling fried mushroom!! Super yummy!! Veron bought like 10 packets for everybody to share. We also tried the bubble tea there. Because there were so many of us and all of us ordered a cup, we stayed around at the bubble tea shop and started chatting with the stuff and made 2 new frens in taiwan :). The guy asked us where we were from and when we said Singapore, the first question he asked is: 那你们会不会讲新各里? We were all blurr. What the hell is 新各里? Seeing our blurred look, he said he saw it on 小孩不苯 movie. And that is started to: ooorrrrhhhhh... Singlish... Haha...

After our bubble tea, we decided to head back to the hotel to rest. And so we walked all the way back to our hotel. Cant remember how long walked. I think we walked a good 30-45 mins. But its fun to talk and joke and walk with the wind blowing in our face.

Back in the hotel room, we started talking about how we felt in the course during the day. We talked about a lot of stuff. Our childhood, our relationship with our family, BGR, the things that were bothering us... We chatted all the way till 3+ am. That was the first time I bared so much of myself to the gals. YL even rested her head on my neh neh. And sadist ZY, came over and said 我也要!! But 我是 kiner, 我要用摸的. That woman 变态!! Hahaha. I told her too bad lah she cant because she did not share the same bed as me. YL and I slept together last night, so 她已经是我的人了. Hahaha.

street directory

Sometime ago, I was in Net’s car and we were heading to Panasonic building to get my camera fixed. As the driver dunno the way very well, he asked me to help him find the place in the street directory. I think by now it is quite a known fact to all that I cannot read maps very well. So I found the place, showed it to the driver and he said that he knows where the place is already. I heave a sigh of relieve till he added: if there are no changes to the roads. :s

So I asked him: why would there be any changes to the roads? And he said that cos his street directory is out dated. And indeed, it is a few years outdated le. No wonder the damn book is so tattered and torn. Keke. Anyway, as it was nearing xmas at that time, an ingenious idea struck me!! So pleased with myself for being so smart, I excitedly told net: since ur street directory is already outdated, why don't I get you the latest version as your xmas present? And the moment I said this, his face change shape started rejecting my very kind offer vehemently, saying I very bo sim la, this and that la to actually wanna buy him a street directory for xmas.

Seriously I don't understand what is wrong with a street directory as a present. At least it is something useable right?? So I decided to test on another driver, MAX.

me: (very excitedly) Max!! I know what to get you for xmas already!! Its the perfect gift!! Im so glad I thought of it!!
max: (eyes glowing with excitement) what is it??
me: haha. You are going to love it.
max: really?? What is it?? Tell me.
me: im going to get you (pause for dramatic effects) ..... .... .... .... .... .... ... ... STREET DIRECTORY 2007!!
max: WAH LAU EH!!!! You not serious right?
me: im very serious!! I think its a good gift!!

And he showed me the international signal, kun tao bu with the dancing finger (with music some more hor).

Then he started KB-ing that its a bad idea for a gift, nobody will give people street directories for xmas and blah blah blah. But I still don't get it what is wrong with street directory!! During xmas we always receive not very useful presents that looks pretty but of not much usage. Rather then getting something that is not of much use, y not get something that they can use when they need it? So I asked max:

Me: would u rather a not practical gift that you probably wont use and dump one side till it grow moulds or would you rather receive a gift that is unromantic but practical (aka street directory)
max: then first choice
me: WHY??
max: because nobody likes street directories and nobody gives street directory as present!! Its so bo sim lor, blah blah blah...

I told sis about it and she told me its the male ego problem. Cos by giving them street directory, it is indirectly telling them that they have no sense of direction and we all know that man NEVER ask for directions even when they are lost.

So in the end, of cos I didn't get them the street directory lah. Keke. Then few days back, I was telling Net about Max’s reaction when I told him I wanna get him the street directory as xmas present. And till now I still don't understand why he would rather choose a white elephant gift to a street directory. And then Net softly said: its our ego lah. So there. Man and their stoopid ego. :p

POV Taiwan Trip Day 1 ~ 28 Dec 06

28 Dec 2006

Woke up early in the morning at 7am because I haven started packing my luggage yet!! My plane takes off at 1pm and im meeting ZY, YL, Rebec, n Bob at 11 at the airport which means I have to leave home by 10.30 and I only have 3 hrs to pack and wash up and all.

So I started packing, rolled all the clothes into different zip lock bags and shrink wrapped them. When I showed max my master pieces, he exclaimed: wah u army trained one ah. Keke. Net came to fetch me at 10.30. I bid everyone good bye and left for the airport. We were the first to reach the airport and while waiting for the rest to arrive, I realised that I left my cosmetic pouch at home. :( was in 2 minds about going back to take my pouch and he offered to go back my place to get my pouch for me while I stay at the airport with ZY n gang. So the 5 of us went ajisen ramen and met Jez who went to send us off with 大大 and 小小.

At 12.40, we boarded the plane. Our seats were scattered. I was sitting in the middle of 2 uncles. :s so I listened to my nano and slowly drift to lala land. Just when I was soundly asleep, someone tapped my shoulder. I opened my eyes and the guy on my left motioned to me that my lunch is served. 1 good thing about being vegetarian is that they always serve vegetarian meals first. But the bad thing is that their vegetarian meal sucks big time. The main course was 2 pieces steamed white kwey (which looks like chai tau kwey before it was cut into small pieces to 炒) and some gravy topped with mushrooms. I only took 2 bites. Yuck, its really that bad. Luckily I ate some light bites before I board the plane.

Started making small talk to the uncle beside me. He was a taiwanese, came to singapore for2 days for work and was on the way back to his home. Initially I thought he was a sinagporean and he thought i was a taiwanese. Haha. And so I made a new friend on the plane. :)

At about 5.30, we reached tai pei. But the skies looked as though a 8pm sky in singapore. I was told that the nights are longer in taiwan during this period of time. We went to collect our luggage and checked out and there Richie was waiting for us at the airport with GL and HJ. :) and together, we went to T1 to wait for Nick and gang. We waited for an hour plus and during that time, Rich gave us a preview of what we should expect from the next 2 days of course.

Nick and the rest arrived at about 7.30 and we waited for the bus to send us to Xin Zhu. The moment we stepped out of the airport, it was freeeezing cold. The wind was very strong. I had to take out my gloves to keep my hands warm. Took an hour’s ride to Xin Zhu and when we reached there, it was even colder!! The wind was blowing even stronger and chillier!! We reached the hotel, checked in our rooms (ZY, Rebec, YL and 1 shared a room), changed into something warmer and went to look for makan.

in the bus on the way to xin zhu

Met Rich at the 豆浆油条 store beside our hotel. Drinking hot 豆浆 on a cold night especially when we are all freezing is damn shiok!! And the carrot cake was damn nice too!! 7 of us ate 7 plates of carrot cakes in total!! Not to mention their 油条烧饼. When dipped in the豆浆, its the perfect combi. 1000 times nicer than the豆浆油条 in singapore.

i miss the carrot cake already...

After filling our stomachs, we went strolling around the streets of Xin Zhu. The good thing about the weather is we can walk and walk and not feel sweaty and sticky. As it was late at night already, most of the shops are closed already. But we still have fun exploring the place, looking at the colourful signboards. Even their 7-11 stores are so much more interesting than the ones in singapore.

By the time we were back at the hotel, its almost 2am. We quickly prepared for bed, as the next day we have to wake up early for the course. ZY and Rebec shared a bed while YL and me shared the other. The moment I lie down on the bed I slept all the way till the next morning. Usually I have troubles sleeping when im in a new environment but that night I slept like a baby. I guess I must really be tired. :)

belated new year post :p

Yeah I know today is already the 5th day of the new year and this post is considered a tad late but late is better than never, right?? How was your 2006? I hope it has been as eventful as mine. :)

But past does not equates to future. So...

Have you set our what to accomplish and achieve for this new year?

Have you set your goals for the new year?

Have you envisioned how you are going to reach your goals?

Have you decided to have a victorious year? (YES I HAVE!!) Or is it just another year for you??

Whatever your goals and dreams are, I know we can and definitely will achieve them!! :D

Looking back, I must say 2006 has been the most fulfilling year for me and I wouldn't have such a great year if not for SCS. if you asked me what is the best decision I made in 06, that has to be to attend Jan SCS because that is where I start to understand myself and found my goals and direction in life and set off towards it. :)

And I wouldn't say it was a bed of roses. Along the way I stumbled, I fell, I lost focus, I was upset, I felt misunderstood, people around me didn't understand what I was doing and why I was so passionate about it, and at times I really felt like giving up cause that will be the easiest path to choose. And im glad all these happened because they give me a chance to stand up again and emerge stronger. Along the way I also made a bunch of very good friends, I became an arête- ian, I saw my own blind spot, I understood myself, I found myself and I broke through myself over and over again. Overall, it wasn't an easy path but it was certainly most enriching, most fulfilling and most satisfying.

And hereby, I would like to give a big thank you to all of you out there from the bottom of my heart, thanks for all your love, your support, your encouragement and for fighting side by side with me. Because without all of you, I would really have given up along the way. THANK YOU!!

As I have said above, I started 2006 with SCS and I ended it and started 2007 with POV. I cant think of any other better ways to end and start a year. and 365 days later, I know I will look back and tell myself, 2007 is the BEST year ever!! :D

So once again, hi there everyone!! I’m back with bigger dreams and aspirations. I’ll continue to dream, to change lives, continue to do more, and become more. And I know I wont be alone. :) See you at the top!!

endnote:
~ taiwan trip post is coming soon, I promised.
