la sup jiat

lately, the most unfortunate events have to happen on my soup. both times, my soup turned non vegetarian. :(

1st incident was last friday, i found a worm in my soup. yucks!! the first thing i said: wa lau, my soup isnt vegetarian anymore.

next was last sat, i was happily savouring my soup at home when ace suddenly took my wallet and did a slam dunk into my soup, like how we dunk our oreos into our milk. i was very very angry and scolded ace: wah lau, ace!! ah yee still want to drink my soup one leh. and so the soup turned non vegen as well cos mine is a leather wallet.

so what did i do on both occasions?? well, i continue to drink my soup anyway. haha... as the hokkien saying goes: la sup jiat, la sup dua!! haha...

where to take me for dinners...

Have set up a new blog on what I lurve to do best... EAT!!

http://vegetarianmakan.blogspot.com

Keke... Yes, this blog is dedicated to all fellow vegetarian friends out there or if you like vegetarian food... It is a compilation of the places I’ve been to, and my humble opinion of the place, filled with the pictures of the food... :)

Actually I have been wanting to do this blog a looooong time ago and this blog was set up waaaaaay back last year. But I just didn't have the time to start posting. It takes commitment to blog and to make an effort to remember the dishes you ate and take pictures of the food. Till lately, I was browsing through the pictures in my computer and I saw the pictures of the food that I had taken and finally yesterday, one of the rare days that I was home early, did I really sit down and started blogging.

This being said, I will do my utmost best to make sure that the blog is filled with interesting updates (which means I have to go around eating and try new food!! Keke). So if you dine with me next time and see me taking out my camera snapping away, please do not be alarmed. Haha.

**

Went Kinokuniya yesterday and bought a book written by Chuck Spezzano, as well as a deck of Love Cards for sis and we spend the night reading cards. The thing about love cards is that it is damn Zhun. Everytime I 抽卡, be it online or the physical card, it always hit right to the root of my problem. Sis asks me to get one set of cards for myself, as a gift from her. :D so I think I will be heading down to Kinokuniya again.

**

Took mrt home yesterday and I ws surprised to find that they have red seats now!! This shows that I haven been taking the train for a long long time. Hiacks.

I received flowers on Sunday!! 5 stalks of red roses. Pretty!! :)

Phantom of the Opera

went to watch Phantom last sat and if there's only one word to describe it, its simply awesome!! worth every single of my 160 bucks. :) im especially impressed by the backdrops... how they made it looked like the stage was really filled with water and when Raoul dived into the "lake", he really disappeared into the stage... we were seated in the last seat of circle one, but our seats were quite centered so we got quite a good view, though the distance is a bit far. i should have booked the seats earlier.

phantom has been my fav musical since more than a decade ago and im glad i caught it. i even read the Phantom of the Opera novel and i can sing 95% of the songs by heart. keke. almost didnt want to watch it till EQ said: i dont want to wait for another 10 years for the musical to come to town again lor. yeah, the last time Phantom was in town was in 1995 and at that time although i really really wanted to go watch it, i didnt have the finances as i was still a poor sec 3 student.

will definately go watch it again if it comes to singapore again. but i would really watch it at other countries so that i can catch the different casts in action. was telling net, when we go france, we must go to the london opera house!! keke.

the only pity is that i will never get the chance to catch the original casts, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. i still think michael crawford's voice and singing is the most solid. maybe its because i hear his singing over the soundtrack, which is definately different from live singing. but i actually cried from listening to his soundtrack alone. thats how powerful he is.

now i cant stop humming the songs from the musical.

the phantom of the opera is there... inside my head...
my fav song: music of the night

Bangkok

My holiday is confirmed!! Our air tickets and accommodation has been booked. I am sooooo excited. Cant wait for august to come!!

the tallest hotel in bangkok...

We will be staying at baiyoke tower, the tallest hotel in bangkok. Went to the hotel’s webby last night and I like what I saw. Best of all, the hotel’s restaurant serves vegetarian food and have a fruits buffet!! The location is quite centralised as well.

yummy buffet!!

I really wished May, June and July will pass quickly. We even have a few must try vegetarian restaurants on our list. Must stop my shopping so I can go for the kill when im there. Afterall, I am told my air tickets, hotel and food will be sponsored. I only need to pay for my own shopping. I seriously think 3D 2N is not enough!!

the hotel's bar...

I am so blessed and loved and happy happy happy!! :)

goog things must wait

I feel so tall today because I am in a pair of 4 inches heels!! Haha. But despite wearing 4in heels, I am still half a head shorter than net. Yeah, he is so tall and I am so short.

Anyway, I lurve this pair of heels cos they only cost $9.90!! Bought the shoes at Mondo, and for regular Mondo customers, you will know that they this regular sales section where the shoes will go at $9.90 per pair and $15 for 2. And being the shopping queens that we are, mondo is one of the shops we often patronise for cheap and nice shoes. :)

So about 2 weeks ago, when we were having our regular shopping sessions at Mondo, I saw this pretty pair of heels. But too bad, its not on sale. So I told them that I will wait for the heels to be “downgraded” to the sales section.

Yesterday we went Mondo again and I saw the pair of heels at the promo section, but its at the $19.90 per pair shelf. So I told LZ, since now it has been downgraded to the $19.90 corner, if I wait long enough, it will go to the $9.90 section. LZ told me that there is another Mondo shop at the basement, so we decided to go there to take a look as well. And the moment I stepped in, I saw that pair of heels at the $9.90 section!!!

HAPPINESS!!

Wanted to get another pair so that I can buy 2 at $15 but sadly, the heels that I liked doesn't have my size. Nevertheless, im still sooooo happy with my purchase!! $9.90 only!! Keke.

So... Morale of story: good things are worth the wait. Must persevere and they will come to you!!

**

My feet/thigh/calfs are aching. Its not easy to walk in a 4in high heels, not to mention walking in ultra high speed cos we were late for office. But I will still continue to wear my beloved high heels cos I am known for 要没不要命(ai swee mai mia!!). Keke.

**

Just came back from isetan sales... Got nice triumph undies at 3 for $9 and a pretty cardi at $19.90.

The pros of working in town: you get to go to the latest sales
The cons: very xiong for the wallet.

lift uncle

I always knew that in japan, some departmental stores have 电梯小姐. I have never seen one in singapore until I stepped into Sim Lim Tower’s lift yesterday. Except that instead of 电梯小姐, its 电梯 uncle. I got a shocked when I stepped into the lift and find an uncle sitting on a plastic stool asking me which floor I wanna go to. I hesitated a bit and told him the level that I wanna go and I wondered if he will ask me for tips. But he didn't lah. Only when I took a different lift down and saw that there is a电梯 uncle in the lift as well that I realised that all the passenger lifts has电梯 uncle.

A bit weird right? Why would we need someone to sit in the lift to press buttons for us when we can do it ourselves? And Sim Lim tower is not a posh shopping centre which requires tip top service some more. Maybe that is one way to boost the employment rates in singapore?

Am thinking to cut my hair. My perm is going straight only after 3 mths due to my lack of care. My ends are dry as grass. Basically I think my hair is in a mess. Should I perm or straighten it (I cant remember how I look with straight hair already? Actually I have an impulse to just snip it short once and for all. I’ve been having long hair for so long (abt 5 years??), maybe its time to make a change. But I’ve been having short hair for even longer (at least 20 years of my life)!! Any also Master E says its more advisable to keep my hair long. The longer the better because hair represents wood. Hmmm. The dilemmas and decisions a gal has to make.

Slept at 9.30 again last night. I am becoming a sleeping beauty. Keke.

lucky numbers

I slept 12 hrs on Friday night. Slept at 9pm and woke up at 9am on sat. Unbelievable!! I amaze net, I amaze myself. Must be the power of kiko mat. But its a gooood sleep caused I lost 1.2kg when I woke up. Never knew sleep also can lose weight right? Keke ;)

Abundance is coming!! Bought 4D with yesterday cause I was telling net that lately I have been seeing a lot of car plates with the numbers 1612 (in this order or in variations) and I have a special inclination for this set of digits because it is my birth date and they were the last 4 digits of my old mobile number, so I told net that I wanna buy 4D. But as I am not a 4D person, I actually forgotten about it till net reminded me and we went to get 1612 I bet.

And we strike 2 sets of numbers 1612 and 2116 in the consolation category. But because we bought I bet, so we only won $50, so $25 each (minus our initial investment, we earn $15 each). Haha. Well, better than nothing. When abundance is coming, we must accept happily and not complain so that more will come. :)

When we were checking the results yesterday, I got very excited when I saw that we strike for 2 sets of numbers. But later when net told me that the winnings is only $50, I sian ji bua. Then I started telling net: we should have bought 全打 or we should not have bought I Bet. Well, humans are so greedy. When we never strike, we don't feel so much frustrations actually. Haha. But in the end I decided that well something is better than nothing. And we shouldn't complain so that more of it will come. Keke.

Shall start looking out for repetitive car plate numbers in future. Haha

tight lipped

Some time ago, someone told me a news of something that is going to happen and asked me to keep it a secret. So I did.

Early this week, I was told, straight from the horses (from the 当事人) mouth about this news. And I had to pretend to be surprised, gasp in shocked and go: oh no, why? How come? Im so sad. I felt my reaction was a bit fake but apparently it was good enough not to arouse any suspicion from the当事人. But I was told not to go spread the news and keep it to myself.

Few days after I got to know the news “officially”, a Mr KayPo came to ask me: “I heard that blah blah blah is going to happen. Have you heard about it?? Did he tell you??” Wah lau, I hate situations like that. Am I supposed to say yes or no? Since I am told to keep it to myself, so I decided to act dumb and pretend to be surprised again, open my eyes wide and go: IS IT?? And Mr KayPo continued to probe: he didn't tell you? You can tell me lah cause I already knew. Wah, this Mr KayPo is good at digging info. But since I already feign ignorance, I die die have to pretend I don't know. So I counter attacked with: “I really don't know. I only guessed from their actions. So what u say is real? Why? What happened? How come?” and continued bombarding him with a series of questions till he say: im also not sure lah so better not say. I cant say till its confirmed.

Then my bus came and I quickly excused myself and fled before I am further questioned. 想从我口中套话, 没这么容易. Heh.

Right vs Happy

During the last POV, Hiromi Sinseh says: do you want to choose to be right or choose to be happy? There is no actual right or wrong. There is no you win, l lose or you lose, I win situations. If we choose to be happy, then it will be a you win, I win situation.

Easier said than done. :(

RIGHT?? HAPPY??

I want to choose happy but there is this big ball of gas that i cannot stomach. Let that gas dissipate first, after that then choose.

**
Ok after a trip to the loo and doing a walking a mini process in my head, I chose to be happy. :)

Its not that difficult actually.

Spidey III

Went to watch spiderman 3 on Friday. Well, I think there has been enough review on the movie already so I shall save my reviews. Anyway these are some of the lame comments we made during the movie.

Spiderman looks more muscular in his suit
The “black” spiderman looks more handsome (this is why there is this saying: 男人不坏, 女人不爱)
Spiderman needs POV.

Hahaha.

water

I was reading this with net the other day.

When we came across the filters used in Geylang Bahru, where he used to stay, I told him: eeeeee, look at how much the colour of the filter changed. Can u imagine how much of those black black stuff you have drank in the past!! Yucks!!

filters used in Geylang Bahru

When we further scrolled down and saw the filters in orchard, my face turned :s
The water in orchard is soo soo soooooo dirty lor. And my office doesn’t have KV6 water filter. Though I diligently bring a big 1L bottle of clean energised water to work everyday, but I still drink about 2-3L of water from my office because my 1L is usually finished before lunch. Now im thinking if I should upgrade my bottle to a bigger one. Hmmmmm.

Eeewwwww... How I wish I can send these pics to my boss and get him to get a filter for our office. Haha. Then I can have unlimited amount of clean, energised, oxygenated water to drink!! Yay!! Actually I think its a worthy investment. Cos... we drink good quality water --> our health will improve --> then we wont fall sick so easily --> the company saves on medical bills --> we are more efficient at work --> we help company earn more money!!

Lastly when we saw the filter used in serangoon (which is near Net’s place) and I told him: Heng you have KV6 at home. Else I will never drink water from your place. Serangoon water even dirtier than orchard water!!

the filter is soooo dirty it looks like its stained with mud lor...

Imagine drinking all these "mud water" everyday. heng i dont stay at serangoon... lagi more heng i have KV6 at home and so does net. :)
